This week’s recipe drop is all about comfort done right. These Wanderlust Smashed Potatoes are crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and finished with Parmesan, fresh herbs, and the flaky, herb-forward punch of our Wanderlust Flake Sea Salt Blend.

This blend turns simple potatoes into a dish that tastes slow-roasted, aromatic, and deeply savory — without any extra effort. A perfect side for holiday tables, cozy dinners, or any time you want an easy, crowd-pleasing classic.

Step-by-Step Guide

Ingredients:

1 lb small potatoes (Yukon Gold or red new potatoes), scrubbed

1 tbsp Flaky Sea Salt (for boiling)

¾ tsp freshly ground black pepper

3 tbsp good olive oil

½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1–2 tsp Salty Provisions Wanderlust Flake Sea Salt Blend 

2 tbsp minced fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

Optional: sour cream or Greek yogurt mixed with herbs, for serving

Instructions:

1. Boil the Potatoes

  • Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water.
  • Add 1 tbsp salt 
  • Bring to a Boil, reduce heat, and simmer 17-20 min until tender
 
 

2. Smash & Season

  • Drain and transfer poatoes to a sheet pan
  • Use a potato masher or a sturdy cup to press each potato to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Drizzle with Olive Oil
  • Sprinkle with 1 tsp Wanderlust Blend and 1/4 tsp black pepper
 

3. Roast & Add Cheese

  • Roast at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping once, until golden and crisp
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with Parmesan
  • Return to oven for 2-3 min, just until melted. 
 

4. Finish & Serve

  • Top with chives or parsley
  • Finish with a light pinch of Wanderlust Flake Sea Salt Blend for extra
